Amal Karunaratne was the adjunct Professor at University of Adelaide (Business School) and a visiting lecturer at the Post Graduate Institute of Management. Amal is a maestro at academic knowledge with over 40 years of experience in Sri Lanka, Australia and Singapore.

His research activities comprehend international marketing channels, country of origin, cultural aspects of consumer behavior and technology development.

Amal’s publications in international journals include the prestigious journal of International Business Studies with Associate Prof Douglas Dow. Furthermore, Amal has presented papers in many international conferences and developed decision making tools for teaching and research purposes.

He has expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, statistical analysis and has carried out consultancies in retail operations, business planning for technology commercialization and presented executive development courses. Prior to joining Breakthrough, Amal served as Technical Consultant for a leading multinational research agency in Sri Lanka.

He is a regular contributor to Lanka Monthly Digest, Echelon and a wildlife enthusiast. He enjoys diving and often travels to various dive sites in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. He also travels broadening his knowledge on the philosophies of Buddhism.

Dilini Jayasuriya served as the acting CEO of a leading multinational research agency prior to setting up Breakthrough Business Intelligence.

She hails from a psychology and marketing background with over 18 years of prior experience in market research. She has her Masters in Business Administration from the Post Graduate Institute of Management (Sri Lanka) and is a certified marketer for the Asia Pacific region.

She specializes in brand strategy development and has extensive experience in handling developmental sector research for clients such as UNICEF, American Red Cross (Sri Lanka and Maldives), UNDP and ILO.

Dilini has authored a set of comprehensive guidelines for UNICEF Maldives, detailing out the best practices on qualitative research and was attached to the UNOPS research unit as a senior consultant.

She enjoys sharing her knowledge with young marketers and spends her spare time reading and studying human behavior.

He has more than 20 years of brand and marketing strategy experience combining brand consulting and industry marketing management. He is responsible for leading major client engagements and providing thought leadership. Suresh's mix of industry and consulting experience has enabled him to help clients develop and implement brand and marketing strategies that build market leadership, create a blueprint for growth/investment and drive financial performance. He has consulted for corporations in technology, hospitals, durable goods, consumer packaged goods, financial services, and telecommunications.

He holds an accolade for strategic planning from CIM and an MBA from Postgraduate Institute of Management

Liyamalie is a practitioner, 15 years of experience in market research.

She served as head of qualitative research: business and strategic client lead at a multinational research firm before her time as Head of Insights at another leading multinational organization in Sri Lanka.

Liyamalie has extensive exposure to an array of qualitative market research projects across various industries including services, manufacturing and FMCG.

Hiteshi completed her Bachelors in Science from the University of Ruhuna and her MBA in Marketing from the University of Colombo. Moreover, she has over 6 years of experience in market research

Before joining Breakthrough Business Intelligence, Hiteshi held senior positions in multiple leading multinational market research agencies.

She has research experience in the local market and plenty of exposure in developed markets such as Australia and New Zealand. Her area of specialization is quantitative commercial research.

Dharshana is a experienced researchers who is knowledgeable in the service arena and works with a multitude of sectors in improving service across banking, health care, insurance and electronic after sales. He has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research. His knowledge in statistical analysis and the passion to spend time with data, helps him in unraveling the stories behind the numbers.

He possesses a Bachelors in Business Management in Heriot Watt University, UK and has over 10 years of experience in market research.

Kamal Pushpakumara has over 16 years of experience in field services across some of the leading research agencies in Sri Lanka. He currently manages the field services of Breakthrough with a multilingual team, collecting useful data from various parts of Sri Lanka.

Over the years, Kamal has made his name, building small teams across Sri Lanka, thereby giving Breakthrough an edge in conducting successful field research.

Kamal is a family man who loves to spend spare time with his two children.
